This beautiful lynx leisurely walked on our property, very close to the house, treating us to a special, memorable and uplifting experience.
The Canadian lynx is a very shy, nocturnal predator that is very rarely seen by human eyes. Even the local conservation officer said that he hasn’t seen a lynx for more than a year.
The Canada lynx stands 48–56 cm (19–22 in) tall at the shoulder and weighs between 5 and 17 kg (11 and 37 lb).
There are many wild animals in the mountains of British Columbia and we have seen many of them on our property, including a huge grizzly bear, countless black bears, deer, elk, pine martin, coyotes, but this was a special occasion for us.
This young lynx graced us with his presence as he delighted us with his fluid, focused movements on the snow.
